10 Day Quirimbas Exploration Itinerary

Day 1 - 2
You will be met at Nampula Airport by your driver. A scenic drive through the local countryside will take you through to your destination – a historical heritage that's unmatched in the rest of Mozambique, and indeed the rest of Africa. Ilha de Mozambique is a reminder of the glorious days when the island was a stop-over on the Indian spice route and the hub for Portuguese discoveries.
Accommodation booked at Terraço das Quintadas, two nights on a Bed and Breakfast basis.

Day 3 - 5
Enjoy breakfast this morning followed by a scenic drive to the Baixo do Phinda Peninsula where you will be enjoying the next three nights in the remote tranquillity and beauty that makes up
Nuarro Lodge. Renowned for its unique diving opportunities and the stretches of deserted beaches, Nuarro offers its guests the opportunity to relax and either do as much or as little as
they wish. A variety of activities are available to choose from or merely sit back and enjoy the beautiful views of the bay in front of the lodge.
Accommodation booked at Nuarro Lodge, 3 nights on a Full Board basis.

Day 6
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing on a scenic road transfer to the city of Pemba (approximate duration 5 – 6 hours). Pemba, the centre of Cabo Delgado Province, Mozambique,
is the world's third largest port and has a long tradition of fishing and commerce inherited by the Arabs as far back as 800 years ago. Until the end of the 19th century, the most important
commerce of the region was the ivory trade as well as the capture and export of slaves, first by Arabs and later by Portuguese colonialists.
Accommodation booked at Pemba Beach Hotel & Spa, 1 night on a Bed and Breakfast basis

Day 7 - 8
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Pemba Airport from where you will be taken by a combination of aircraft transfer and boat transfer to Guludo Beach Lodge. Guludo Beach Lodge offers a more rustic, but truly unique experience to it clients with the emphasis on responsible tourism and protecting not only their surrounding environment but also looking after the local community. An example of this is the fact that 5% of all the revenue generated by the lodge goes to providing clean drinking water, mosquito nets and schooling in Nema.
Accommodation booked at Guludo Beach Lodge, 2 nights on a Full Board basis.

Day 9
This morning you will enjoy a boat transfer across to Ibo Island, a destination that is rich with history and tradition. Places of interest to visit include Ibo's 200-year-old ghost town and 16th Century and a guided tour is definitely a must. Enjoy your last day exploring the island or simply relax at the Lodge’s swimming pool with a refreshing drink in hand.
Accommodation booked at Ibo Island Lodge, 1 night on a Full Board basis.

Day 10
Depart Ibo this morning after breakfast and be transferred by road to Pemba Airport to catch your flight back to Johannesburg.
End of tour.
